4 – There are three internal assignments you can do at your own pace, and one exam set by the DHET.
NOTE: The exam set by the DHET is an external exam. External fees are not covered by your course fees. This means that you will need to pay an additional exam fee in order to write this exam.
Matric (National Senior Certificate)
There are four subjects to complete. They will be the basis of this course going forward.
- Communication N4
- Office Practice N4
- Information Processing N4
- Computer Practice N4
When you have successfully passed all of your exams, you will receive the National Certificate: N4 Management Assistant. It is awarded to you by the DHET.
Can you get a job after completing the N4 Management Assistant course? Yes, you can get a job with this qualification. But we do advise that you complete the course (N4 to N6). With only the N4 certificate, you could land an internship to help you with your practical work experience. Completing the course N4-N6, you can go into the following jobs:
- Administrative Assistant
- Data Capturer
- Office Administrator
- Management Assistant
- Personal Assistant
Gaining Your Practical Work Experience
You need to complete in total 18 months of practical work experience for you to get your National Diploma. For every course (N4-N6) you need to do six months of practical work experience. Sign up for the free service, iWIL, offered by the DHET.
